A Living Connection to the Chida

Bet Midrash HaChidah takes its name from Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai (1724–1806/1807), the renowned Sephardic Torah scholar known as the Chida. Born in Jerusalem, the Chida became celebrated for his halachic writings, his travels among Jewish communities, and Shem HaGedolim, his landmark work documenting Jewish scholars and their books

Today, Beit Midrash HaChidah continues to honor his name in North Hollywood, bringing people together through Torah study, prayer, and Shabbat and holiday meals

A small community. A warm welcome
